In what has been one of the busiest NFL offseasons, the Dallas Cowboys reacted quickly in the wake of losing running back Demarco Murray to the Philadelphia Eagles. The Dallas Cowboys agreed to a two-year deal with Darren McFadden for $5.85 million and includes a $200,000 bonus, as reported by ESPN.com.

McFadden, who spent his last seven season with the Oakland Raiders had his best season in 2010 where he rushed for over 1,000 yards and averaged 5.2 yards per carry.

“I would like to sincerely thank The Oakland Raiders organization and the‪#‎Raidernation for the 7 amazing years,” said McFadden on his Facebook page. “I could not describe how incredible the experience has been. Thank you for all of your support, dedication and all of the love!”

A top-5 draft pick coming out of Arkansas, McFadden never had the opportunity to play for a contender, as the Raiders struggled to find consistency in their coaching staff and roster. Battling injuries throughout his career, McFadden managed to stay healthy last season, but was given less opportunities in favor of Latavius Murray.

Turning 28 in August, McFadden will now play behind what is considered one of the best young offensive lines in the league which features Tyron Smith and Zack Martin.  In addition, McFadden will also be a part of a high powered offense that features Dez Bryant, Tony Romo and Jason Witten.

Congrats Darren on a fresh start in Dallas, and we wish you nothing but the best of luck in this new chapter in life!
